Training modes
ulTrain uses training modes to keep the app focused. The same app can support runners, walkers, hikers, lifters and hybrid athletes without showing everyone the same clutter.
| Mode | Best for | What you will see |
|---|---|---|
| Endurance | Running, walking, hiking, cycling, swimming and event preparation. | Plans, events, activities, elevation, distance, race progress, nutrition and kit. |
| Strength | Gym-based training, routines, exercises, progressive overload and workout history. | My Workouts, My Exercises, live workout runner, sets, reps, load, rest timers and strength analytics. |
| Hybrid | Athletes combining endurance and lifting. | Plans, weekly planner, strength routines, activities, analytics, nutrition, events and recovery context. |
How to choose
- Choose Endurance if your main goal is building distance, preparing for an event, or moving more consistently.
- Choose Strength if your main goal is lifting, routines, exercises and gym progress.
- Choose Hybrid if your week includes both endurance sessions and strength training.
Changing mode later
Go to Settings and change your app mode. Your existing data remains stored. The tab bar and Home screen simply reprioritise the features that are most relevant to the selected mode.
Hybrid tip: Use the Week tab to keep hard runs away from heavy lower-body sessions when possible.
